Dr. Tucker recently shared his entry plan with the DCSD Board of Education. During his first 90 days, Dr. Tucker will focus on the following entry plan goals:

Create a structure to listen and learn comprehensively about Douglas County School District and begin to cultivate trust and confidence through open communication.
-
Establish a strong working relationship with the Board of Education.
-
Study in-depth the District’s student performance status and review the financial condition of the system with Chief Financial Officer and the Board of Education.

Ultimately, Dr. Tucker’s overall goals for the school district will align with the Board of Education’s end statements: Academic Excellence; Outstanding Educators and Staff; Safe, Positive Climate and Culture; Collaborative Relations with Parents and Community; and Financial Well-Being.
“Our Board of Education has been hard at work developing five end goals -- which I believe are the anchor of this school district,” said Dr. Tucker. “During my first 90 days, I will be following the action steps outlined in my entry plan, which will guide my transition into the Douglas County School District. This entry plan will allow me to gain significant understanding of the status of the school system’s performance and create a network of contacts and resources to assist in the work of supporting the continuous improvement of Douglas County School District.”
