DCSD Employee Council
The Douglas County School District Employee Council is a voluntary advisory group that provides employee input and feedback to the Superintendent on various school district-wide matters including working conditions, compensation and benefits. The Council is made up of 40 employees representing all employee groups, including Classified, Licensed and Admin/ProTech.
Licensed employees -- thank you to those of you that were able to join us for an input session in October regarding DCSD's compensation structure. There will be one more input session held on December 9th from 4:30 to 6:00 P.M. at CRMS and we would love to see you there.
These facilitated sessions gave DCSD's Licensed Employees the opportunity to provide their thoughts regarding the potential components of a new compensation structure in DCSD.
DCSD’s
Employee Council has been working to review our licensed compensation system, in partnership with a Denver metro area salary study, via a consultant, in order to provide input and recommendations toward a new salary schedule. This process began as a result of a resolution from the DCSD Board of Education in December 2018, that directed our Superintendent to create a compensation structure that 1) is predictable for all employee groups; 2) acknowledges experience/longevity, knowledge and job performance; 3) is easily comparable to neighboring school districts; 4) is developed after the opportunity for ample feedback and input from employees, regularly and effectively communicated to all staff; 5) progressively moves toward regionally-competitive pay for all employees; and 6) reflects research and best practices for ensuring equity and employee satisfaction.
