A Conference to Foster Thriving and Compassionate Communities

This conference will foster thriving and compassionate communities of students and adults by building further capacity for Social Emotional Learning amongst teachers, parents, and community members. Learning at this conference will include training for teachers and parents around mental health and well-being, strategies for students and staff to assist with stress and anxiety, and considerations for parents in supporting their children to be successful students.

Keynote Speaker: Donna Y. Ford

Donna Y. Ford, PhD, is a Distinguished Professor of Education and Human Ecology and Kirwan Institute Faculty Affiliate at The Ohio State University's College of Education and Human Ecology. She is in the Educational Studies Dept., Special Education Program. She returned to OSU in Aug. 2019. Previously, she was a professor at Vanderbilt University and one of the leading experts/authorities on gifted Black students. Professor Ford has written over 150 articles and book chapters; she has made over a 1,000 presentations at professional conferences and organizations, and in school districts.
