Special Open Enrollment for Voluntary Benefits Begins February 12, 2024

Life is full of unexpected moments. Voluntary benefits can help you pay for the out-of-pocket costs you may experience. DCSD is excited to announce that we have revitalized our voluntary benefit programs to include more offerings with enhanced value for our staff.

Our voluntary benefits program now includes:

  • Accident Insurance (Enhanced) - provides benefits for specific injuries and events resulting from a covered accident. This benefit has been enhanced to pay higher levels of benefit at a lower monthly cost to DCSD employees. In addition, a Wellness Benefit is included with this Accident Insurance coverage. It provides an annual cash payment if you complete a covered health screening. Health screenings include routine dental and eye exams. With that benefit, this coverage nearly pays for itself.

  • Critical Illness Insurance (Enhanced) - provides a lump-sum payment if you are diagnosed with a covered illness or condition. This benefit has been enhanced to cover more illnesses at a lower monthly cost to DCSD employees.

  • Hospital Indemnity Insurance (NEW) - provides a fixed daily benefit payment if you have a covered stay in a hospital. This benefit is new to DCSD and provides coverage if you are admitted into a hospital, including a scheduled surgery or having a baby.

  • Pet Insurance (NEW) - We haven’t forgotten about your furry family members! DCSD now offers a discount on MetLife Pet Insurance. Veterinary care costs are increasingly expensive. A MetLife Pet Insurance plan helps cover the costs when unexpected accidents or illnesses occur, so nothing gets in the way of caring for your pet when they need it most.

The Accident Insurance, Critical Illness Insurance, and Hospital Indemnity Insurance programs are available to all benefit-eligible employees.
The Pet Insurance is available to all DCSD employees and is open for enrollment at any time of the year. All of these benefits pay cash directly to you in the case of a qualifying event covered under each plan.

At DCSD we believe these benefits are so important, we have decided to open a Special Enrollment for Voluntary Benefits window from February 12-29, 2024. For more information, please click on the following link:
