2016-17 Transportation Application and Fees Information

Note: Please check your bus route information before applying for a ZPass or paying any transportation fees to ensure your address has bus service. You can find this information here.

All applications for ZPass cards are now done through the Express Check-In online app.  If you need to apply for a new card for the first time, or for a replacement for a card that was misplaced or stolen or damaged, you will need to submit the electronic application online through your child's school link for express check-in or click here.

If you are unable to submit the electronic application in Express Check-In, please email zpass[at]dcsdk12[dot]org to request a new or replacement card.  Include your child's name and spelling, student number (if available) and current mailing address.  During peak times (July and August) the card may take approximately 3 weeks to arrive by mail.  Your child may ride the bus in the meantime by providing his/her name and student number to the driver for manual entry.  Paper applications are no longer accepted.

Every student who rides a DCSD bus must have a Z-Pass card. Z-Pass cards will be administratively issued and a $25.00 fee assessed (initial card and all replacements) if your child repeatedly rides the bus to and /or from school without a Z-Pass card.

For neighborhood schools only, each ride to and from school is $0.50 each way.  Payment options include $150 for an annual pass (saves $24.00 over the year for unlimited rides during this school year only) or quarterly billing.  These are the only two options available.  If you select the annual pass option, please remit payment by September 16, 2016.  You will not receive a quarterly bill if you pay for the year upfront.

Families who qualify for the National School Lunch Free and Reduced Price Lunch program MUST mail, fax, or email annual approval letter to above address prior to bills being distributed (see fee schedule below).

If your school accepts online payments you can pay your bus fee online.

Please note that Bus Drivers are NOT authorized to accept cash or any payments.

APPLICATION:

If your child currently has a working Z-Pass card you DO NOT need to complete a new application. Please have your student continue using his or her current Z-Pass card.

If your child needs a replacement card, please complete the online application through Express Check-In and check the box for replacement card.  

If your student has never had a Z-Pass card and he or she requires transportation, please complete the Application for All Education Transportation Services online through Express Check-In. Upon receipt of the completed application, Z-Pass cards and instructions will be mailed to your home.

All Z-Pass cards (including the initial card and all replacements-lost, stolen or damaged) are issued at a fee of $25. If you have a working Z-Pass card, you will not be charged the $25 fee.

We suggest that students secure the card in an interior pocket of  their backpack to help protect the card from being lost, stolen, or damaged. Students MUST provide card to any DCSD employee when requested.

 

Transportation Fee Schedule 2016-2017

  • Quarterly billing information will be sent to the email address provided in Parent Portal unless you notify the Zpass office that a mailed statement is preferred.
  • Please make changes to your email address within Parent Portal or with your child's School Registrar.
  • Mailing address changes can only be made by your School Registrar.
  • October 25, 2016
    1st Quarter statements will be sent for the 1st Quarter usage ending October 7, 2016
  • November 16, 2016
    1st Quarter bills due.
  • January 4, 2017
    2nd Quarter statements will be sent for the 2nd Quarter usage ending December 16, 2016
  • January 25, 2017
    2nd Quarter bills due
  • March 28, 2017
    3rd Quarter statements will be sent for the 3rd Quarter usage ending March 10, 2017
  • April 18, 2017
    3rd Quarter bills due
  • June 12, 2017
    4th Quarter statements will be sent for the 4th Quarter usage ending June 2, 2017
  • June 30, 2017
    4th Quarter bills due.
