## About the Mathematics Department

Since its inception in 1983, the Math Department has been proud of the success that its students have demonstrated. Ponderosa math students have some of the lowest college math remediation rates in the state of Colorado . From Algebra I through BC Calculus an incremental development is used. This approach helps to insure that a concept will remain with a student once the concept is learned.

## Student of the Month

October's math student of the month is Andrew Griffenberg. Andrew is a transfer student and is new to Ponderosa this year. Andrew is taking Calculus AB and scored a 100% on the chapter 2 test. Andrew is a hard worker and is always eager to help out his fellow classmates. He is a model student and any teacher is lucky to have a student like him.
