Mountain View's Academics
As a primary school, Mountain View students receive a strong foundation for learning, including the acquisition of literacy and numeracy skills. We ensure that our students are provided learning opportunities that recognize and celebrate their uniqueness, develop their full potential and prepare them to meet the challenges of the 21st Century. As part of our Guaranteed and Viable curriculum, learning is a combination of important learning targets based on Colorado State Standards and 21st Century Skills. Mountain View fosters the development of key skills such as communication, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity in an authentic, nurturing environment. Our teachers collaborate with each other and our students to incorporate World Class Outcomes in every classroom. Our goal is to engage our students through an innovative education so that one day they may positively impact our global community.
At Mountain View, we are committed to Kindergarten-2nd grade alignment, which means that we want our students to receive instruction that uses similar strategies, format and language as they progress through each grade level. This way, students can focus on learning concepts, applying those concepts in new situations and integrating them to other content areas in creative ways.
