I have been teaching for many years. I graduated from the University of Colorado @ Boulder with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and my K-12 Art Teaching credential from Colorado State University. One of my passions in life is to create environments that harmoniously blend nature, technology and art. My Favorite hobbies are art (of Course!), cycling, backcountry skiing, gardening, environmental design. My wife and I enjoy cooking healthy meals together, using organic ingredients that we grow in our garden.
I’m Kathy Moritzky, and I love being an educator! I have 28 years of teaching experience, which includes special education (k-12) and 5th grade. I have also worked as an Instructional Coach. I’ve taught in New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Colorado (my favorite, of course!) My wonderful husband is Todd. Between the two of us, we have six children who keep us on our toes! We also have an incredible grand daughter named Paisley. As if that is not enough, we have three dogs and two horses. I love the outdoors so in my free time you can usually find me camping, kayaking, working in the yard, or just taking a long walk. Of course, I also love to read! Getting to work with young people is nothing short of amazing to me. I am looking forward to sharing my enthusiasm with the students, staff, and community of eDCSD.
I was born in Medford Oregon many years ago, I am a 1983 graduate of Medford Senior High. I moved from Oregon to Washington State a few years after my graduation, where I met my husband Ed. Shortly after our 1994 marriage we moved here to Colorado and then on to North Carolina for a brief stay before coming back to Colorado to settle in the splendor of all that Colorado has to offer. My husband and I have 2 daughters, our oldest is on her own and our youngest is still in school. We love camping, fishing, hiking, and hunting, pretty much anything outdoors. I love it here at eDCSD and the work we do for each of our families and the student's we are honored to serve.
