It is the mission of the Douglas County mathematics department through the coordinated efforts of its faculty to provide a program such that all students will be inspired to achieve and excel in the highest level of mathematics possible. The goal of the mathematics department is to maintain high standards and expectations by providing our students with a wide variety of courses including International Baccalaureate Middle Years program and Diploma program.  We offer Advanced Placement and concurrent enrollment courses as well. Many of our classes use College Preparatory Mathematics (CPM) curriculum  The rigor and relevance of all our studies will enable our students to be prepared for their lives and careers in a technological world and global economy. We emphasize active learning, writing and talking mathematically, using critical thinking skills in problem solving and using the appropriate tools to guide success, which include but are not limited to calculators and computers. Our students will be fluent in their mathematical skills and challenged to use mathematics in meaningful and relevant ways.
