Intellectual Freedom
Intellectual freedom is the right of every individual to both seek and receive information from all points of view without restriction. It provides for free access to all expressions of ideas through which any and all sides of a question, cause, or movement may be explored. Intellectual freedom encompasses the freedom to hold, receive, and disseminate ideas.

Our Mission
The Douglas County High School Library Media Center seeks to enrich lives through community, story, tinkering, and easy access to world-wide information. The library team aspires to develop lifelong learners and independent thinkers by:
  1. teaching 21st century skills: digital citizenry, media and information literacy,
  2. providing a portal to creators and their published works, both print and electronic,
  3. demonstrating current software,
  4. testing tomorrow's technology,
  5. maintaining a safe environment that values the process of collaboration and creation,
  6. partnering with teachers, students and parents to facilitate the journey of discovery.
