1.  WHAT IS INFINITE CAMPUS?  WHAT IS THE PARENT PORTAL? ( back to top )

Infinite Campus [IC] is the student database used by Douglas County School District [DCSD].  All student information is managed by it (registration, immunizations, grades, emergency contacts, attendance, etc.).
The Parent Portal is the access point into IC for parents/guardians of DCSD students.

 

2.  WHO HAS ACCESS TO THE PARENT PORTAL? ( back to top )
Every parent/guardian of a child currently enrolled in a Douglas County school.  Students also have access to certain portions of their own records (applicable mostly to Middle/High School students).

HOW CAN I GET ACCESS?
An account must be set on the Parent Portal.  After registering your child, an email with instructions and an "activation key" will be sent to the address you provided to the registrar.  If you have not received this email, lost it, or require and activation key for another guardian, please contact Anna Hylton (include your child's name, and the name of the guardian requiring access).
Please use these instructions and your activation key to create an account.

 

3.  I HAD A PARENT PORTAL ACCOUNT ISSUED TO ME FROM MY OTHER CHILD'S SCHOOL.  DO I NEED ANOTHER ACCOUNT? ( back to top )
Creating a Parent Portal account is a one-time set up.  If you have a Parent Portal account set up through any DCSD school you do not need to create a new account.

 

 

4.  WHAT IS DISPLAYED FOR STUDENTS AT CHEROKEE TRAIL? ( back to top )
At this time parents have access to attendance, report cards, immunization information, fee information, and lunch money balances. 

 

 

5.  HOW CAN I VIEW MY CHILD'S GRADES? ( back to top 

  • Log into the Parent Portal
  • Select the student (top)
  • Choose Reports
  • Choose "CTE Progress Report"

​Note: Student EPRs are only available during the current school year (next school year begins in July) - please review and print as needed within that time frame.
 

 

6.  WHY ARE THE AVAILABLE OPTIONS DIFFERENT FOR DIFFERENT SCHOOLS? ( back to top )
Each school decides which options will be available on the Parent Portal.  That is why a parent may see different options for their secondary student vs. their primary student.

 
 

7.  DO I NEED TO CREATE OR RENEW MY ACCOUNT EVERY SCHOOL YEAR? ( back to top )
Your account is valid as long as you have a student enrolled in a Douglas County school.

 
 

8.  WHAT DO I DO IF I FORGET (HAVE FORGOTTEN) MY USERNAME AND/OR PASSWORD? ( back to top )
Go to the Parent Portal - click on  - use the the Problems logging in? link - enter your email address - IC will send an email containing your username and password information.

9.  CAN I USE MY STUDENT'S USERNAME AND PASSWORD (STUDENT PORTAL)? ( back to top )
You shouldn't, because: 
- You won't see email and phone messages that were sent to you regarding your student's attendance, missing assignments, etc. in the Student Portal. 
- The username and password for the Student Portal is also used for your student's network folder (school work). If you accidentally change this login your child won't be able to access school work stored.

11. HOW DO I OPT IN FOR TEXT MESSAGE NOTIFICATIONS? ( back to top )
The IC Parent Portal has the capability to send text messages. In cases where families need to be contacted immediately, a text message can be sent by the CTE office. Not everyone has unlimited texting or wants to receive school related texts. For this reason we are asking interested parents to opt in, if they want to receive text messages.
If you are interested in this messaging system:
1. log into Parent Portal

2. go to the Contact Preferences
   - for each phone# listed, select the check box if you want texts to be sent

   - click Save
3. if your cell phone is not in the list, please contact the office with this information

Weekly correspondence will continue to be sent out via email - text messaging will be reserved for emergencies and time-sensitive situations.
