DCSD to Test Emergency Messaging September 4
CASTLE ROCK - On Thursday, September 4 at 11 a.m., the Douglas County School District will be conducting a test of our emergency messaging systems.
To ensure our notifications are timely and dependable, DCSD is committed to quarterly testing our emergency notification systems.
The September 4 test will include voice, email, and text messages from the School Messenger system, and will be labeled as “THIS IS A TEST OF THE DCSD EMERGENCY COMMUNICATION SYSTEM.” Simultaneiously, we will send alerts on our website, mobile app, Facebook and Twitter accounts
Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring their emergency contact information is correct in the Parent Portal. Only phone numbers and email addresses that are check-marked under the "Emergency" column will receive Thursday's test message. Families that need to update a phone number within your Parent Portal Contact Preferences screen will need to contact their school registrar.
Add Our Number to Your Contacts
All calls from the new School Messenger system, including emergency, attendance and reminders from schools, will come from the following toll free number: 877-279-4061. We are encouraging parents to add this number to their contacts with the DCSD or Douglas County School District.
The advantage of using this single phone number is that parents will have the ability to call in to this number and retrieve any messages that they have missed.
