InspirED Innovation

Born by mandate. Inspired by best practice.
In 2010, the Colorado legislature passed Senate Bill 10-191 and fundamentally altered the way that all educators are evaluated with the ultimate goal of supporting educators' professional growth and, in turn, accelerating student results.

To meet the requirement of implementing an evaluation system aligned to state guidelines, Douglas County School District looked to the market to find the right solution. Finding none that aligned perfectly to the rapidly evolving educational ecosystem in DCSD, Former Superintendent Liz Fagen put marker to whiteboard to lay out a bold vision for a custom set of 21st century tools that would integrate to support the work of teachers and leaders. The result: InspirED Innovation.

"We knew that our teachers and our leaders deserved something better," Fagen explained. "So, we've gone down this pathway of actually creating this system that will support our teachers and our leaders, eventually to our parents and our students. I'm proud of the work our technology folks have done and am excited by the reactions from some of our best teachers," she added.

Tools that talk for teachers that inspire.
InspirED Innovation is an integrated suite of web-based software tools to assist teachers and leaders in delivering a World Class Education to more than 67,000 students. There are currently tools for instructional planning, certified staff evaluation, professional development, student learning objective tracking, and twice annual elementary progress reporting. Originating from dynamic teacher and leader dashboards, InspirED Innovation is built to the specifications of the educational paradigm shifters in Douglas County.

DCSD is interesting in partnering with other school districts. For more information, contact Chief Technology Officer Gautam Sethi.
