Employee compensation increases approved
CASTLE ROCK - In a special meeting of the Douglas County School District (DCSD) Board of Education, Directors approved licensed (teachers & principals) employee compensation increases for school year 2014-15.
DCSD employees will receive an average 3% increase. However, compensation increases in DCSD are tied to performance. The highest performing teachers (licensed staff) will receive an increase of up to 6%. All employees will receive a compensation increase to cover the increased cost of benefits.
"We value our outstanding teachers and employees," said DCSD Board of Education President Kevin Larsen. "We want to continue to attract and retain the very best. We are pleased to be able to once again offer some of the largest compensation increases along the Front Range."
"Our staff deserves this increase for their hard work and dedication to our students," continued Larsen.
The total compensation package increase for licensed teachers is $9.7 million for 2014-2015.
