Francie Billings - Communications Assistant

As the Communications Assistant, I have the privilege of supporting the DCSD Communications team utilizing my experience in graphic design and digital marketing. For over 20 years, it has been a passion of mine to deliver clear, visual branding and messaging through print and digital mediums. In my role, I assist with the district’s internal and external e-newsletters, social media, website maintenance, and community relations.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree from Eastern Illinois University with an emphasis on graphic design. My career began in Chicago in the publishing industry. I relocated to Colorado in 1999 where I earned my web design certification, taught graphic design on a collegiate level, and started a freelance business. After freelancing for 12 years, while raising a family, I am excited to return to the work that I love in communications. I am also invested in this district as a proud DCSD parent.

I have the privilege of telling the inspiring and unique stories that are all around here in the schools of Douglas County. I am a career storyteller since 2001. I previously was a Photojournalist at 9News, Fox31, 7News, and KRDO. I absolutely love finding fun ways to tell a new story.

This district is important to me because it’s also my home. I have a wife and three young boys. They are all students or attending preschool in Douglas County. When I’m not working a camera or immersed in editing you’ll find me playing bass at church or in a rock band, clanking shots on the basketball court, or cheering on my Broncos and Nuggets - and justifying a good run-on sentence.

With 20+ years of combined experience in media relations, public relations, marketing and broadcast television, I am thrilled to be part of the Douglas County School District team. Not only do I work and live in Douglas County, I am also a proud DCSD parent!

Prior to joining the Douglas County School District, I spent time managing media relations for another Colorado school district. My career began in television news, with stops at 7News and FOX-31 News here in Colorado. I also spent time at a number of additional television stations in other states as a reporter, anchor and producer.

I earned my degree from the University of Nebraska - go Huskers!

Nate Jones - Community Relations Specialist

As the Community Relations Specialist, I work to connect our schools with our community partners throughout Douglas County and to help show off the amazing work that our teachers and students are doing every day. I also manage our Facebook and Twitter pages, as well as LiveStream Board of Education meetings. 

I also serve as the backup Public Information Officer, assisting schools with communications to families and helping answer questions for media.

I served in the United States Army for 9 years as a Public Affairs Non-commissioned Officer, and am currently pursuing my master's degree in communications and advertising from Syracuse University.

In my role of Communications Officer, I strive to support all DCSD public schools via our district’s key elements of: 1) educational excellence, 2) stakeholder satisfaction, and 3) a positive culture and climate.

As a Douglas County resident and parent, I am incredibly committed to the success of each and every public school in the Douglas County School District. I’m excited to be part of such a talented team of communications professionals.

I have over 17 years of experience in communications, public relations and marketing; ten years of that experience is in the field of K-12 public education. Prior to joining DCSD I served as the Communications Director for the Colorado League of Charter Schools, a non-profit membership organization.

I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Colorado at Denver as well as a certificate in graphic and web design from Platt College.

Jan Reagan - Graphic Designer

As Lead Graphic Designer and Brand Manager it is my pleasure to provide artistic direction, message discipline, brand consistency and marketing support for the District. 

After attending the University of Colorado, Boulder and graduating from the Colorado Institute of Art, Denver, I ran Shaeffer Reagan Design, a full service graphic design firm, for 30 years. 

As a proud DCSD parent of three, and volunteer for 17 years, I joined the DCSD Community Relations team shortly after my youngest child graduated from Rock Canyon High School. I continue to be exceptionally grateful to be part of the DCSD Community.

Chris Silberman - Communications Manager

As Communications Manager, I manage district-level communications activities and projects, as well as daily written, graphic, and video content produced by the Communications team. Additionally, I manage the design and content for the DCSD website, mobile app, and district E-Newsletters distributed to employees and parents. I also provide website technical training to personnel in other departments and in schools. 

I am a graduate of the University of Colorado at Denver. Prior to joining DCSD in September of 2015, I worked in the Colorado nonprofit sector for 16 years, most recently including Phamaly Theatre Company, where I served as Executive Director for five years.
