There is a lot of advice when it comes to weight training among young athletes today. Every week at the Children’s Hospital Colorado physical therapy clinic, we listen to a lot of different opinions on how a young athlete should train during the season. As a sports medicine therapist, however, it is important to note that not all of these opinions are accurate.
To clarify what healthy weight training for young athletes should look like, it is important to first find out when, where and how it is safe for kids to start weight training.
