Strategic Plan

DCSD - Leading the Way logo with child looking forward with their long hair blowing backward in the wind

Douglas County School District is known as a premier school district in Colorado and across the country.

In addition to helping our children master reading, writing, math, practical life skills, critical thinking and so much more, we must also prepare them for their future so they can LEAD THE WAY in our ever-changing world: a world with quickly evolving artificial intelligence and related technologies that we cannot even imagine.

This school year, we are engaged in a community-wide conversation about our successes and challenges to date and the path forward for our students. We welcome our entire Douglas County community to join us in this future-focused strategic planning process.

Strategic Planning kickoff meeting

Dr. Bill Daggett speaks to an audience at the Legacy Campus on Oct. 2, 2024, in Lone Tree.

In early October, DCSD hosted kickoff meetings for our school district's next strategic plan. For those who were able to join us, your presence and insights were invaluable. For those unable to attend, below is a link to a recording of one of the sessions featuring a presentation from Dr. Bill Daggett (above). We encourage you to watch the video at your convenience and join us in this collaborative journey to equip our students with the skills they need to thrive in their adult lives.

Your feedback is instrumental in shaping our strategic vision. If you haven’t already, please take a moment to share your thoughts and ideas using the link below.

Strategic Plan meeting feedback

In early 2025, we will host a series of engaging opportunities for you to contribute to the strategic planning process. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
