The National Merit Scholarship Corporation recently released the names of winners from two award categories: Corporate Sponsorship Awards and $2,500 Awards. National Merit Corporate Recipients
More than 1,000 national finalists won Corporate Sponsorship awards financed by about 160 corporations, company foundations, and other business organizations. Eight students from Colorado are being recognized for their educational excellence and we are excited to announce that two of those eight are Douglas County School District students. In fact, both are from Douglas County High School in Castle Rock.

Congratulations to these outstanding DCSD scholars!

Corporate Sponsors provide scholarships for students who are children of their employees, who are residents of communities the company serves, or who plan to pursue college majors or careers the sponsor wishes to encourage. Most of these awards are renewable for up to four years of college undergraduate study and provide annual stipends or single payments.

National Merit $2,500 Winners
We are also thrilled to announce that five DCSD students have been named recipients of 2019 National Merit $2,500 Scholarship awards. These students were selected from a pool of 15,000 finalists! National Merit $2,500 Scholarship recipients have the strongest combination of accomplishments, skills, and potential for success in rigorous college studies, according to the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
