Castle Rock Region Schools

For over 60 years, the Douglas County School District (DCSD) has strived to provide innovative educational approaches tailored to every student. Here in Castle Rock, DCSD has two school feeders: the Castle View High School feeder, and Douglas County High School feeder, each featuring amazing middle school, elementary school and preschool offerings.

Castle Rock families can access the educational options within our schools that best meet their students' needs. DCSD schools offer a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where students can discover their strengths and talents and develop their unique potential.

Programs include:
  • College and Career Readiness

  • Honors and Advanced Placement Offerings

  • Concurrent Enrollment (students earn college credits while in high school)

  • Career and Technical Education (preparing students to enter the workforce directly after graduation)

  • A variety of sports, clubs and extracurricular activities

  • Advanced Education (such as gifted and talented programs)

  • Special education and related services in alignment with the Individuals With Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Colorado’s Exceptional Children’s Education Act (ECEA)

  • Early Childhood Education/Preschool

  • Before and After School Enterprise (B.A.S.E.)

NOTICE OF DESTRUCTION OF SPECIAL EDUCATION RECORDS

Special Education records which have been collected by Douglas County School District related to the identification, evaluation, educational placement, or the provision of special education in the district, must be maintained under state and federal laws for the period of five (5) years after special education services have ended for the student. Special education services end when the student is no longer eligible for services, graduates, or completes his/her educational program at age 21, or moves from the district. This notification is to inform parents/guardians and former students of Douglas County School District's intent to destroy the special education records of students who exited special education services as of June 30, 2016. These records will be destroyed in accordance with state law unless the parent/guardian or eligible (adult) student notifies the school district otherwise.
