DCSD Restart & Recovery: 2020-2021
Survey on Contingency Restart Scenarios

Dear Douglas County School District Families,

The Douglas County School District (DCSD) plans to return to in-person learning this August, unless healthcare experts, the Colorado Department of Education, and/or Governor Polis advise otherwise. The safety and well being of our students and staff remain a top priority, thus we are working with our DCSD Restart & Recovery Task Force to create a restart plan which will guide us in welcoming students back to an “as close to normal as possible” classroom experience in August, while taking necessary precautionary measures to keep students safe.

A robust, comprehensive DCSD eLearning option will also be offered at each of our schools as an alternative to in-person learning for families who prefer their student(s) continue learning remotely. eLearning will be aligned with researched-based online pedagogy to include “LIVE” video instruction, grading, and attendance.

Return to School Survey

Given the uncertainty of what restrictions will be in place when school restarts in August, DCSD’s Restart & Recovery Task Force is also designing contingency plan scenarios.

To assist our Restart & Recovery Task Force in their planning, we want to hear from our DCSD families, whose children attend our schools, about their plans and comfort level regarding their child(ren) returning to school this fall, as well to gather feedback on contingency scenarios, which would only be utilized in the case that healthcare officials or the Governor do not permit school districts to return to a normal, in-person classroom schedule. Each scenario is focused on prioritizing health and safety, while also being responsive to the needs of our students and families.

Click HERE to take the survey. Survey closes June 22 at midnight.

If your child attends a DCSD charter school, you may wish to check in with your child's school to learn about their plans for returning this fall.
