DCSD Road to Return Update

DCSD Road to Return Update July 22
Posted on 07/22/2020
Thank you for your continued patience as we work to revise our Road to Return plan. On Monday, July 20, we received much-anticipated guidance from the Colorado Department of Education and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. We are working to incorporate that guidance into our plan.

Our next step will be to present the full plan to our Board of Education at a special meeting this Saturday, July 25. Board Directors and District Leadership will attend Saturday’s meeting in person. Due to social distancing guidelines, community members and media will not be permitted in the building, however, the meeting will be live streamed on the DCSD YouTube channel.

In the meantime, we encourage you to review the Frequently Asked Questions page that is now available on our website. We will continue to add to and update these FAQs on a regular basis.

Fall 2020 DCSD In-Person/eLearning Preference Form - Deadline TODAY (July 22)

As a reminder, today is the last day to indicate your preference for in-person or eLearning (based on information currently available) for the 2020-2021 school year, as well as your needs for school bus transportation. Your response/preference is not binding. Families will be able to make their official enrollment selection of in-person or eLearning during Express Check-In.
  • If your child attended a charter school in 2019-2020 and plans to continue at their charter school for 2020-2021, you do not need to complete this form. Charters have the autonomy to design their own operations and education delivery opportunities and will be communicating their plans directly to enrolled families.
  • If your child attended a DCSD neighborhood school in 2019-2020, and is transferring to a DCSD charter school or a non-DCSD school for 2020-2021, please complete the form to help us plan for staffing at your child’s prior school.
The plan to reopen schools is not one we are taking lightly. It is critical that we continue to partner with local and state health experts, as well as the Colorado Department of Education, to ensure we get this right for our students and staff. We thank you for your patience and support and look forward to providing you with additional information following this weekend’s Board of Education meeting.

Sincerely,

Thomas S. Tucker, Ph.D.
