Recommended Boundary Adjustments
Douglas County School District staff will recommend to the Board of Education the following elementary school boundary changes in Highlands Ranch. These adjustments would become effective in the 2026-2027 school year. The Board will vote on these recommendations at its April 22, 2025 meeting.
Mountain Vista High School / ThunderRidge High School Feeders
- Homes north of Kendrick Castillo Way will be reassigned from Eldorado Elementary to Northridge Elementary (currently 9 students). Current Eldorado Elementary families in this area will have the option of staying at Eldorado Elementary or enrolling in Northridge Elementary.
This reassignment moves these homes from the ThunderRidge High School Feeder to the Mountain Vista High School Feeder.
Mountain Vista High School Feeder
- Homes south of East Wildcat Parkway (currently 102 students) will be assigned to Copper Mesa Elementary. Current Heritage Elementary School families in this area will have the option of moving to Summit View Elementary with their cohorts or enrolling in Copper Mesa Elementary.
Highlands Ranch High School Feeder
- Millstone community (currently 14 students) moves from Fox Creek Elementary to Wildcat Mountain. Current Fox Creek families will have the option of staying at Fox Creek or moving to Wildcat Mountain.
-
Carriage Club community (currently 9 students) will be reassigned from Acres Green Elementary to Eagle Ridge Elementary. Current Acres Green families in these areas will have the option of moving to Fox Creek Elementary with their cohorts or enrolling in Eagle Ridge Elementary.
-
When Elementary Schools 50 and 51 open in RidgeGate and Sterling Ranch, respectively, more significant boundary adjustments will be made on either side of Highlands Ranch.
*These recommendations assume no open enrollment shift after elementary school pairings.
