To be considered for a student teaching position, all applicants must apply during the required application periods.
A variety of factors influence placement with a mentor teacher. However, the earlier in the application window you apply, the more placement options may be available, and the more likely it is that we will be able to provide you the best placement possible.
Fall Semester Application Period: February 1 – March 30 (student teaching August – December)
Spring Semester Application Period: October 1 – November 15 (student teaching January – June)
The Douglas County School District utilizes the semester-based calendars to determine registration windows as we have various university partners with differing placement calendars. DCSD has only two registration windows: Fall Semester and Spring Semester. Any initial requests outside of these time-frames will not be approved.
