Social Emotional Learning
Wellness in DCSD
The Board of Education promotes healthy schools by supporting the physical, social, emotional, and behavioral wellness of all students within the Whole School, Whole Community, and Whole Child Framework. This student-centered approach recognizes the connection between health and student achievement. It also recognizes the importance of staff, students, families, and the community working together to provide evidence-based learning opportunities, support, and access to appropriate resources for the benefit and improvement of the health of all students.
We support student wellness in DCSD through our Integrated Multi-Tiered System of Supports, which is a comprehensive framework where every student is supported, connected, and provided with the knowledge, skills, and mindsets for success within their academic, social, emotional, and behavioral wellness.
