Week in Review

Today, most of our schools officially wrapped up the 2025-2026 school year. Let’s take a quick look back at some of the incredible highlights of this school year.

Our schools received a total of 42 academic awards from the Colorado Department of Education.
Our schools are consistently named Family Favorites by Colorado Parent Magazine.
DCSD has the highest graduation rate in the Denver/Metro area.
DCSD is the top-scoring school district in the Denver/Metro area.

I, along with DCSD Board of Education Directors and members of my Cabinet, have had the absolute privilege of celebrating the Class of 2026 at graduation ceremonies over the past week (and there are still more to come!). It is always a true honor to attend the commencement ceremonies at our high schools and hear the amazing things our students have planned for their future. We have graduates who are going on to college, directly entering the workforce, serving in the military, or taking a gap year to travel and see the world. Check out the full schedule of graduations on our website. 🎓

Commencement ceremonies are special in so many ways. This is the time of year where it all comes together – where we are reminded of the “why” behind all of the work we do here in DCSD. We hear uplifting speeches and heartfelt performances. We learn more about what our seniors have planned for their futures. The end of the school year, especially for the families of graduates, can be bittersweet. But it’s not goodbye – each member of the Douglas County School District Class of 2026 will forever be part of the DCSD Family.

Thank you for your patience as we navigated our unpredictable Colorado weather this week. It’s hard to believe we had our first (and hopefully last) snow day of this school year in MAY!
