Staff and Student Recognitions

The Douglas County School District Board of Education proudly recognizes the achievements of our students, staff, schools and departments. Individuals and teams are honored during the Board's meetings. The nomination process and ceremonies are organized by the District's Communications department. Some examples of recognitions include, but are not limited to:

Students

  • State, national or international award winner
  • Winner of state title in CHSAA recognized sports
  • 1st - 3rd place finisher at national or international events or competitions
  • Published author (book is published by national publisher or work is published in a legitimate anthology, magazine or periodical)
  • National Merit Scholarship winners
  • Boettcher Scholarship winners
  • Achieved a perfect score on SAT or ACT college-entrance exams

Staff

  • State, national or international award winner
  • 1st - 3rd place finisher at national or international events or competitions
  • Published author (book is published by national publisher or work is published in a legitimate anthology, magazine or periodical)
  • Colorado Teacher of the Year finalists or winner
  • National Board Certified Teachers

Schools/Departments

  • State or national award winner
  • Grant recipients
