Policy Update - Feedback
Feedback Opportunity
At its regular meeting on November 11, 2025, the Douglas County School District Board of Education conducted a first reading of proposed revisions to the following policies:
- Board Policy DJ - District Purchasing
- Policy FEH - Supervision of Construction (moving language from FEH to DJ and eliminating policy FEH)
The reasoning behind increasing purchasing thresholds in Policy DJ is due to rising costs, especially related to construction materials related to the 2024 bond. At times, making purchases quickly before costs rise can save taxpayer dollars. In addition, the higher threshold is meant to reduce the number of transactions that the Board must spend time reviewing, allowing them to focus on the most meaningful information.
All DCSD expenditures will continue to be available on the Financial Transparency page of the school district's website.
Please review the proposed policy revisions at the links above and provide any questions or feedback by completing this form.
The deadline for feedback is Monday, December 1 at 5:00 p.m.
The Board will consider the second reading of these policies at a future Board meeting with the option of taking action for approval.
