Hands-On History at Pioneer Days

Pioneer Girl
Ann Hriso

Pine Lane Elementary fourth graders had history come to life with an unforgettable Pioneer Days experience! Students stepped back in time and explored the daily life of early settlers through hands-on activities that blended fun with education. It was a day of active learning where history isn't just read from a book. Students were busy raising a teepee, panning for gold, washing laundry the old-fashioned way, collecting eggs and dyeing fabric with natural materials. They also explored animal pelts at the fur trader station, built toys and churned butter by hand.

Thank you to the incredible fourth grade team who was there to guide and educate, offering insights into the resilience and ingenuity of those who came before them.
