Douglas County Students Shine at Global Code Quest Competition
In March, students from across Douglas County School District put their coding skills to the test at Lockheed Martin’s annual Code Quest - a global computer programming competition hosted at 20 sites across four continents.
The local event, held at Lockheed Martin Waterton in Littleton, brought together 20 advanced and 20 novice division teams to tackle real-world coding challenges designed by Lockheed Martin engineers. Students programmed in Java, Python, C#, and C++, all while sharpening their teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Douglas County was well represented with teams from Castle View, Chaparral and Rock Canyon high schools. A special shoutout to Rock Canyon, who placed first in the Advanced Division, and Castle View, who placed second!
This event also serves as a pipeline for internships and apprenticeships, and one of DCSD’s own - Zachary Ott from Chaparral High School - was hired by Lockheed Martin following his performance at this year’s competition!
We’re proud of all the Douglas County students who represented our district at this global event and are excited to see where their coding skills will take them next! 💻🚀
