Future First Responders for the Day 🐕
Early in April, two World Compass Academy students had the opportunity to shadow their School Resource Officer (SRO) for the day. The students met local therapy dogs from Castle Rock Police Department, rode in a police car (and activated the sirens 🚨) and shared the joy of the therapy dogs with their classmates. The students also welcomed SRO Lance’s new Castle Rock Police Department therapy dog, Lily! Lily has had an incredible journey beginning with her rescue in Florida where she graduated from Paws & Stripes College. At just 10 months old, Lily has already made a positive impact at World Compass Academy and they are thrilled to have her as a part of the community.
It was an unforgettable day filled with learning and a newfound appreciation for the role of SRO’s in the World Compass Academy community. Thank you to SRO Lance and Lily, on patrol Castle Rock officers and the SRO's with their therapy dogs from Aspen View Academy, Castle View High School and Mesa Middle School.
