From Classrooms to Communities: National Junior Honor Society Students Give Back
Ann Hriso
The dedicated students of Sierra Middle School's National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) committed their 2024-2025 school year to academic excellence and fundraising. Not only did these students partner with Clothes-Bin Recycling to make a positive impact on the environment by keeping textiles out of landfills, they also raised funds for the following charities:
- Colorado Puppy Rescue: $1,000
- National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI): $63.00
- Parker Task Force: $1,000
- Susan G. Komen Foundation for Cancer Research: $730
Finally, eighth grader Emerson Nerger was the recipient of a $600 grant from the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) for future service initiatives.
What a difference a year and lots of hard work can make! Thank you to these students for their dedication to service and the pillars of the National Junior Honor Society.
