Congratulations to Fox Creek Elementary for being named a 2024 Significant Support Needs (SSN) Model Site by the Colorado Department of Education (CDE)!

“The work that the staff does at Fox Creek each and every day to help ALL of our students feel and be included in the life of their general education classrooms is incredible,” said Fox Creek Elementary Principal Cheryl Fulmer. “It is wonderful that our school is now recognized as a beacon of hope and a model for other schools across Colorado. I could not be more proud to serve as the principal with these amazing educators!”

The criteria for this incredible designation is based on quality indicators as provided by CDE.

“This is an incredible accomplishment! It could not have been achieved without the hard work of the Fox Creek Elementary School and the Douglas County School District staff,” shared CDE Supervisor/SSN and Deaf-Blindness Specialist Gina Herrera.

Fox Creek’s designation was celebrated at the September 10 DCSD Board of Education Meeting with Principal Fulmer, SSN teacher Kelsey Mang and DCSD Executive Director of Special Education Liza Meier on hand for the special recognition.
