Cimarron Middle Assistant Principal Selected for Award

Cimarron Middle Assistant Principal Selected for Award
Ann Hriso

Congratulations to Cimarron Middle School Assistant Principal Jessica Ranalletta for being selected as the 2026 Colorado Middle Level Assistant Principal of the Year by Colorado Association of School Executives (CASE).

At Cimarron Middle School, Ranalletta supports the restorative practices team, leads connection circles and helps with restorative work for students and staff. She also uses surveys to gather feedback and better serve the school community and believes that connection and empathy are key to her success.

“We need each other. The basic human need is to have a connection with people around us,” Ranalletta said. “Every decision I make is to keep that in mind: how do I maintain the people, which isn’t just kids, it’s staff and parents too.”

Principal Chris Zimmerman shared his appreciation for the dedication Ranalletta has for the success of their school’s community. “She is a fantastic assistant principal, and I think it means a lot to have her honored with all the work that she does and what she brings to our school community,” Zimmerman said. “The level at which she works is extremely high, and that doesn’t come without a lot of hard work and dedication to the craft of what she does.”

Ranalletta’s goal has been to involve all members of the community, including parents. “Her visibility in classrooms and hallways, along with her warm, approachable demeanor, has fostered trust and connection,” a Cimarron Middle parent said.

As the Middle School Assistant Principal of the Year, Ranalletta will be considered for the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) by a panel of judges that selects three national finalists. Learn more at www.co-case.org.
