Castle Rock Students Win at Fire Safety

Every year, the Castle Rock Fire and Rescue Department hosts a contest inviting Castle Rock third through sixth graders to creatively color safety messages into vibrant art. The theme this year was “Charge into Fire Safety™: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home." Each year’s safety message aligns with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) theme for Fire Prevention Month. Fire Chief Norris Croom selected five winners.

Fire crews visited student winners at their schools for presentations, pictures and to give each winner’s class treats to enjoy. Students also had the opportunity to meet a special guest: Sparky the Fire Dog!

Congratulations to each of our talented contest winners! All winning artwork will be displayed on the sides of the fire and rescue vehicles for the next year.
