Beloved Children’s Author Charms Coyote Creek Elementary

Author Laura Numeroff, best known for her beloved children’s book If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, made a special visit to Coyote Creek Elementary, where she spent time with excited 1st and 2nd grade students. During her visit, Numeroff captivated the young audience by sharing the charming and unexpected story behind how she came up with the idea for her now-famous book. She also talked about her lifelong passion for storytelling and illustration, giving students a glimpse into the creative process behind her many popular titles.

In addition to revisiting her classic work, Numeroff introduced her newest book, Max and Mama. This heartwarming story follows the adventures of a playful corgi puppy named Max and his loving mom as they enjoy a joyful day together. From a delicious breakfast to a fun game of hide-and-seek, and a sunny picnic in the park, the book highlights the sweet and simple moments that make the bond between a mother and her child so special. Students were thrilled to meet the author and left inspired by her stories, creativity, and the message of love and connection in her latest work.
