Cresthill Middle School Unified students had a power play moment in January when they were invited to participate in the Special Olympics Avalanche Floor Hockey Clinic at Ball Arena.
With guidance from Sam Malinski and Martin Nečas of the Colorado Avalanche, the students learned techniques and experienced the excitement of playing in a professional arena. They even had the chance to get “signed” for the day by Avalanche legend Joe Sakic!
Students also met the Avs beloved mascot, Bernie the St. Bernard, adding even more energy to the event. It was a winning day for everyone who took the floor!
