Mountain Vista High School's Drew Plug, Grace Frye, Joe Buck and Owen Lamb won 3-0 over Lakewood in the championship match to claim Colorado’s first-ever Splatoon 3 title and the school’s first-ever esports championship!
My decision to become a teacher was influenced by the summers I spent with my grandparents, who dedicated their lives to education. My grandmother worked as an attendance secretary in an at-risk high school and her compassion and determination impacted my decision greatly. I grew up hearing her stories about going above and beyond for her students - driving them to school, making countless phone calls to colleges and universities on their behalf, and ensuring they had opportunities for a better future.
I'm very proud of the work we have done at Sierra because it has taken our entire staff, student body and community working together to move our school forward - one step at a time. Seeing progress at a middle school can be a test of patience. Every day our SMS community demonstrates that we can be the best in the business, in big ways and subtle ways.
It's the holiday season and the time of year when many people collect donations to give back to organizations in need. Students and staff at Arrowwood Elementary are dedicating their efforts to help some of Colorado's most vulnerable furry friends.
You may know that the DCSD BASE program offers care to students before and after school. But this holiday season, BASE students and staff came together to give back to others who may have once been a part of the program.
Northridge Elementary Student Council members have organized a toy drive to benefit patients at the Children’s Hospital in Highlands Ranch. Families, students and staff are piling up gifts - large and small - for these young patients in the hopes of making this holiday season a little brighter.
