Who or what inspired you to enter the field of education?
My High School Social Studies teacher inspired me to become a teacher.

Did you follow a traditional or unconventional path to become a principal?
A traditional path. I was a social studies teacher for 18 years, Dean of Students, and Assistant Principal/Athletic Director.

If you could write a book about your career path, what would you title it and why?
Dedicated to public education and the success it has on students.

What is a work-related accomplishment that you are the most proud of?
Being able to work with students who struggle and when they graduate they mention you as an influence in their accomplishments.

How do you relax and regroup after a stressful day?
Spend time with family and our grandson.

What do you like most about working in public education?
The diversity

What is your favorite way to show staff appreciation?
Visiting their classrooms and letting them know I appreciate all they do.

What is your favorite way to energize yourself at work?
To see students and teachers engaging in learning and the energy of the student body.

What do you like to do outside of work?
Camp, hike, golf, and spend time with family.
