Only three Colorado schools received the 2024 Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP) designation, given to schools committed to delivering school counseling programs aligned with the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Model framework. Two of those schools are part of the Douglas County School District (DCSD).

Congratulations to Franktown Elementary School and Redstone Elementary School! The RAMP designation demonstrates to administrators, school boards, families and the community that the schools are committed to supporting the mission of the school and district.

Only 138 schools in the country received this year’s designation. The schools will be honored during a special ceremony at the ASCA Annual Conference in July for making an exemplary commitment to their school counseling programs. The RAMP designation, celebrating its 20th year, recognizes schools committed to delivering a comprehensive, data-informed school counseling program and an exemplary educational environment.

The RAMP designation is good for five years. DCSD’s Sagewood Middle School also holds the RAMP designation.

“This year’s RAMP honorees have shown their commitment to students and the school counseling profession,” said ASCA Executive Director Jill Cook. “These schools used data to drive their program development and implementation so all students can achieve success. RAMP designation distinguishes these schools and encourages school counselors nationwide to strive for excellence.”

To receive the RAMP designation, schools must submit an application that is reviewed by a panel of school counseling professionals. The group assesses the school counseling programs in 10 different areas of expertise. Learn more about the program here.
