The Colorado High School Activities Association Hall of Fame announced its Class for 2022, and DCSD is proud to have two of the seven members selected for induction: Coach Tim Ottmann from Ponderosa High School and Highlands Ranch High School basketball standout Ann Strother Abromaitis.

Tim Ottmann led Ponderosa’s wrestling program for 18 years with a record of 147-19 (200-26 overall). Ottmann collected 16 consecutive Continental League titles and coached 10 5A state champions. He was also named NFHS National Wrestling Coach of the Year in 2009. In addition to being a wrestling coach, Ottmann was the athletic director and assistant principal of Ponderosa High School, before serving as principal before retiring in May 2022. Ottmann served DCSD for 31 years.

“I’ve very honored to be selected, although this is a shared honor because there are so many people that helped behind the scenes. I always say, work hard and good things will happen,” said Ottmann.

Ann Strother Abromaitis won two 5A girls' basketball state titles while starring for Highlands Ranch, and was named the Naismith National Player of the Year and Gatorade National Player of the Year. A 2002 graduate of Highlands Ranch High School, she received recruiting letters from more than 300 colleges and universities in the nation, and ultimately decided to play for the University of Connecticut Huskies, winning two national titles.
