Mini-Grant Application Guidelines
 
 
 
The Safe and Drug Free School Advisory Council of Douglas County School District oversees the
allocation Title IV, Safe and Drug Free monies throughout the district. The purpose of this funding is to
provide comprehensive prevention programming in the area of substance abuse and violence among
school-aged youth in Douglas County.

Individuals and groups working in the area of substance abuse/violence prevention may apply
for funds from Safe and Drug Free Advisory Council. In order to provide alignment of district-
wide prevention programming, mini-grant application may be submitted for the following
programs only:

Second Step Violence Programming
o
 
Aggression Replacement Training (A.R.T.)
o
 
Say It Straight Drug Prevention Programming
o
 
Victims, Aggressors and Bystanders
o
 
Positive Behavior Support (PBS)
o
 
Olweus

Prior approval from the Safe and Drug Free Advisory Council is necessary to access Title IV
monies.
 
Allocation review

Deadline for receipt of grant applications is
Friday, September 26, 2008
 
Notification will occur by Friday, October 24th

Applicants may request up to $500.00 per project. Multiple projects may be submitted by each
school. In certain cases, funds may be transferred directly to the school.

Applicants who receive funding, must provide evaluation/feedback on the success of the
mini-grant. If this is not provided, future grant applications will not be accepted.
 
 
If the application is approved, the contact person for the grant should discuss payment procedures with
the Student Development Office bookkeeper, Ann Orcutt. All grant funds must be spent by
FEBRUARY 27, 2009.
Receipts for reimbursement should be in to the Student Development
Department by
MARCH 27, 2009y
. Any unspent funds will revert back to the Title IV, Safe and Drug
Free funds in an effort to support preexisting prevention programming.
