To all District employees:

 

In Douglas County School District there are always two things you can count on – growth and snow.

This school year, the District has a

new

process for determining school delays and closures. Decisions

will be made for

High School Feeder Areas

.

  

As an employee, your weather area is determined by where you WORK, not where you live. If your

school is open, you are expected to report to work. On a delayed schedule, elementary, middle and

high schools start ONE HOUR later than the normal school start time.

Central Administration is

considered open if any feeders are open, even if CVHS and DCHS feeders are closed.

Activity bus

cancellations will occur by

Feeder Area

. When activity buses are cancelled,

ALL

activities in the region

or district are cancelled, including meetings, conferences, sporting events, practices/rehearsals,

performances, etc. Activity bus decisions will be made by 1:30 p.m.

 

In the event of an

ALL District closure

, only

essential personnel

are to report to work. Essential

personnel are those employees predetermined by the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources

or his/her designee. Responsibilities of essential employees include responding to the type of situation

causing closure or performing a time sensitive or critical District function that would have an adverse

impact on the District if not performed on a specific day. No other employees are to report to work. Non-

essential employees will receive their regular rate of pay during this absence from work.
