School-to-Career (STC) focuses on preparing students to make informed decisions about careers and post-secondary education. STC works in partnership with businesses, middle and high schools to offer Educational and Career Planning (ECP), and career connections for students. STC also includes the coordination and support of Naviance, a management tool for high school counselors.

What is our Goal?

To prepare students for life and the world of work by integrating academic rigor with relevant workplace competencies through partnerships among schools, businesses and communities.

What is School-to-Career?

A link between school and careers that helps students clearly see how they can apply their academic skills to a wide range of career opportunities. School-to-Career assists students in understanding the relevance of their studies by helping them answer these questions:

What am I learning? Why am I learning it? How can I use it?

Although School-to-Career is appropriate for all grade levels, Douglas County focuses primarily on middle and high school students, grades 7-12. These students have something in common - they all need to make serious decisions about their futures.
