We have redesigned the online benefits enrollment system, eBenefits, to incorporate new Benefits plans for the 2009-2010 school year and have expanded the application’s functionality to include flexible spending account elections.

Express Line is a new application designed to allow parents to pay student fees online with a credit card.  It was created in collaboration with the State of Colorado’s State Internet Portal Authority and is based upon the payment transaction engine used by the State of Colorado on its own website. Payments made online are immediately updated on student accounts in Infinite Campus

April - August 2009

Implementation of a new Point-of-Sale system for school cafeterias. This is an enterprise wide system rather than an individual system for each school.  It will increase the speed and the accuracy of submitting meals to the state for reimbursement, as well as expand the ability to sell, track  and report on student food selections to Nutrition Services and to parents. The same system can be used to sell franchise items from outside vendors in high schools next year.

July 2009

This new system will give parents easy access to district- and school-specific forms that must be filled out at the beginning of each school year.  Parents will be able to see the information that schools have on file for their children and will be able to update their contact information instantaneously. Express Check-In will greatly reduce the paper, time and data entry required to ensure that student information is accurate. 

Through  2009

System capabilities are being expanded to include additional applications such as Kronos, E-Business Suite, C-SNAP, UCM, and Newton.  In addition, new charter school employees will now be given Infinite Campus accounts as soon as their name and location information is provided to the District.

Jan - July  2010

This will allow parents and registrars to easily enter all data online that is required to register a child in the school district. 

May 2010

This is a district-wide strategy to create a framework for all departments and schools to store pertinent data and so that it may be extracted, analyzed, and reported on whenever needed in an intuitive, user-friendly manner.

This is a new application for kitchen managers. It allows them to place food orders based on product availability in the District warehouse and automatically creates a requisition for the order in Oracle E-Business Suite. This streamlines the ordering process and prevents substitutions.  It also provides accurate fiscal accountability for each school.

This is a new application for charter school business managers. It allows them to enter and maintain the employee information that must be reported through the District to the Colorado Department of Education. This application has saved countless hours of error checking and requests for information. Charter school employees are now given access to district systems including Infinite Campus (based on their job) as soon as the information is entered in Magna Carta.

The CDE reporting process has been enhanced to include many more edit checks prior to submission to CDE.   Data validation reports have been added to allow the Human Resources Department (HR) to view potential errors prior to submission. The submission process itself is now automated so that HR can submit whenever they are ready.

The Balanced Scorecard system (SCORE) has been enhanced to add District pages that compare DCSD to other front range school districts.  The application is now available to the public without login.
