eDCSD Teacher Expectations

Planning and Preparation
a.
 Familiar with what occurs in the physical classroom
b.
 Align scope and sequence with physical DCSD content (using C, I & A guides where available)
c.
 Integrate learning opportunities in alignment with ES 1.0 Responsible Citizens
Classroom Environment
a.
 Perform a Welcome Call to students and parents
b.
 Establish rapport and develop relationships  - help students engage socially through Forum discussions
c.
 Update your Profile – include ways for students to get to know you
d.
 Identify and teach internet behavior expectations (Netiquette)
Instruction
a.
 E-mail response within 24 hours
b.
 Proactively contact student and parent regarding Student Contact (see Student Contact and drop policy)
c.
 Utilize the announcement feature to customize course work
d.
 Ensure that each lesson has an identified objective
e.
 Engage students through questioning and discussion techniques using the Forum
f.
 Provide timely feedback using IC, e-mail, or private forums
Professional Responsibilities
a.
 Update Time-Task grades weekly (attendance)
b.
 Update progress grades every 2 weeks
c.
 Ensure all support materials are approved by DCSD
