District Advisory Committee Representative
parents, staff, students and community members make up the DAC and
serve as a vital link to the Board of Education. The DAC provides a
community perspective to the Board of Education on important
educational issues. They also assure the district and individual
schools are in compliance with state accountability laws. For more
information about the DAC, contact Debby Novotny, Coordinator, School/Community Partnerships, at 303-387-0128 Key Components: - By law the local Board of Education must appoint a District Advisory Committee.
- The areas of study of the DAC should be cooperatively developed annually, and should
include a process to measure the adequacy and efficiency of educational programs offered in the school district. - The DAC consists of one parent representative from each school’s advisory council (SAC). It also
includes student and staff representation, as well as community members who do not have children in school. A member from the Board of Education also attends meetings. - Each school’s SAC appoints their DAC Representative.
- The DAC has a standing Steering Committee.
- High school students are involved via the Student Advisory Group.
