Q: What is the time line for k-12 implementation?
A:

Phase I = Fall 07-08

Phase II = Spring 07-08 to Fall 08-09

Q: How do I become a virtual teacher?
A:

Q: What and how will I be paid for being a virtual teacher?

Q: What are the expectations of a virtual teacher?
A:

Q: Do courses meet NCAA eligibility?
A:

Yes, provided the course is accepted by your high school, is equivalent to and possesses the same name as the course listed on the schools NCAA accepted core courses list.

Q: How will courses show on a transcript?
A:

The credit will show a course number preceded by the letter “e” followed by the name of the course under the school heading of eDCSD-Online Education.

Q: How do I register interested students?
A:

1) Submit to Sohne the student name, ID and course you wish them to take.
2) Indicate if it is in addition to the traditional semester programming of 3.5 credits.
3) Indicate if the student will be engaging in the course in a lab at your physical location.

Q: What is the cost?
A:

Please reference the online Education Fee Structure.

Q: How long do students have to complete a course? Can they register at any point in the year?
A:

Courses must be completed within 18 weeks.  Students should expect to spend the same amount of time with their online course as they do their face-to-face courses- somewhere between 6 and 7 hours per week.

An introductory course, DCSD101 is required prior to taking any core class.  The course is available 24 hours after registration is confirmed.
