DCSD speech/language teachers provide a wide variety of services to students
(Pre-K through 12) who exhibit difficulties with oral and written expression.
The full spectrum of speech/language services might include, but are
not limited, to the following:
provide speech/language screenings
provide community awareness about communication disorders
conduct comprehensive speech/language evaluations
provide assistance with and monitoring of augmentative communication
devices
assist in program placement
provide therapy in the areas of: articulation, language, voice,
and fluency
participate in multidisciplinary team meetings as well as IEP
staffings
