Counselor Internships in Douglas County School District
Douglas County Schools welcomes future counselors for internships in our district! A counseling internship in Douglas County provides an invaluable experience working in secondary schools alongside innovative counseling professionals. There may be a limited number of elementary placements for counseling students with either a school psychologist or school social worker. Counselor Application Information:
Step 1
Submit all required internship application materials to your college or university, completing all requirements necessary.
Step 2
After approval from your college or university, the University/College Education Department will send your application to Douglas County Schools Human Resources. Please note any special requests on the application.
Step 3
Douglas County Schools Office of Human Resources will send the application to Administrators and school counseling departments informing of any special requests.
Step 4
The school will notify Human Resources if a placement is available. Human Resources will contact the college or university placement office of the decision.
Step 5
The internship begins! Refer to DCSD Counseling Internship guidelines (located on Human Resources Web page) for additional information.
Step 6
After completion of the internship, apply online (www.dcsd.k12.co.us) to become a counselor in Douglas County.
