1983

The School Board sets a goal to become the best school district in the state of Colorado.
1987
The District Accountability Committee authors the District’s first Mission Statement.
1991
Road to World Class Conference – Targets 2000 containing four categories:
  • High-Performing Students
  • High-Performing Staff
  • Informed and Involved Community
  • Effective Organizational Development
1992
The School Board adopts seven Core Values
1996
The District revises their Decision-Making framework (N + 1)
1998
The District drafts their first Strategic Plan
2000
The District revises their Mission and Core Values, adding Continuous Improvement. The District forms the Continuous Quality Improvement department.
2003
New leadership brings a renewed focus:
  • Take Responsibility for Policy Governance
  • Continuous Improvement Cycle – Problem, Cause, Treatment, Results
  • Project Management to close identified gaps

2004

Introduces Balanced Scorecard as a method for monitoring results
  • Student Learning (High-Performing Students)
  • Staff Focus (High-Performing Staff)
  • Stakeholder Focus (Informed and Involved Community)
  • Leadership Focus (Effective Organizational Development)
  • Process Management
  • Budget and Finance
